THE BRIEF

What they needed

Northwind shot a launch film over four days on location and needed a single editor to take 3 hours of footage from selects to a finished hero spot plus a full social kit — fast, and looking like the budget was triple what it was.

THE EDIT

How I approached it

  1. 01

Built a paper edit from the script and director notes, then a selects reel to lock the strongest 40 shots.

  2. 02

Cut the hero to a temp score, then collaborated with a composer to score to picture once the rhythm was right.

  3. 03

Graded in Resolve for a cool, filmic look with warm skin tones; matched shots across two cameras and times of day.

  4. 04

Versioned the master into 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 and :15 / :06 cutdowns with motion titles for paid social.
